I've gotten a few emails and messages about sites that are brand new and have like 0 content. There is a reason for that and that is CCBill.
CCbill requires that a site be ready to go upon approval which means everything has to work, including the tour. Some webmasters put up a blog as a holding spot for models as the site is being built and designed, others keep it a secret. In order for ccbill to approve, the holding spot (blog) has to be lifted and the tour has to be fluid, meaning every link has to work and there has to be content in the members area for them to view and approve.
How much content is needed? Legend has it that the less content there is, the faster they will approve it, because they don't have much to view. And once CCbill approves the site, which is typically around 2-3 days, then Visa has to approve it, which takes about 7-10 days. During the limbo time, the site still doesn't update because then visa will have to review all the additional content making the approval time take that much longer.
After both approval processes are complete, then the site should begin to build its content and updates should happen on a regular basis. You may often see navigation changes and the whole look of a site should start to take place as the tour gets redesigned and the members area looks more complete.
The initial thought of a webmaster is to get a site up as fast as you can with as little time involved and get it approved so the real building can take place. Even after approval, it may take a couple weeks to get the content flowing steadily as there are tweaks that need to be made and promo content to get ready.
I hope this explains some to the new people who join. It's not that webmasters don't have the content, it's just that we weren't ready for people yet![]()
