    Default Babe Chat Problems

For anyone that was experiencing problems I apologize. Most of you were able to see the show cleanly I think but for the people that couldn't view it at first and then fixed their problem, could you please explain the type of system and browser you were using and what you did to fix the problem. I am making up a help guide for the time being till we get this situation figured out and any help would be great.

Also... when posting, please keep in mind that most people saw the feeds just fine. So odds are the issue is software related, on your system. We'd be more then happy to help you trouble shoot the problem though.

Usually it is firewall or software related.

Those of you that were having issues and then solved the problem, post how you fixed your issue, you might help your fellow BB'r!

In Firefox, clicking on the babechat.net link from Cass' site just redirects me to this board, which is odd, to say the least.

Trying it in IE, I can get to the chat room but the cam doesn't show up. When the cam window opens, it brings up a Cannot Find Server.

Sorry about being a little annoyed, I've missed a few cams and chats because of the old system, and seeing that the camchat is a large part of her site, it's like I'm paying for nothing...something I don't enjoy.

BTW, how many people where watching Nikkis cam? You keep saying it's on my side but I'm going to tell you that you don't have a large enough sample size to make that claim.

    -Chris

    Hi Chris,

At top there were 60 people viewing the chat tonight for Nikkis Show. I had I believe 3 people that said they could not view the stream, but were able to if they added babechat.net to their "Allowed Sites" for their firewall. They also said that if they had turned off their Nortons Firewall and enabled their Windows firewall that that helped in the solution as well.

We are very sorry about the issues that you are having and can only hope that we can fix the issues at hand promptly.

Bob.. i already covered this, but you sound like a skeptic so I'll try and cover this.

If others can watch the feed, how can you explain this? is it a conspiracy against you? no, of course not man. It's software on your computer that is interfering. Others have posted saying they had issues, they disabled this or added babechat.net to the list of allowed domains and boom, problem solved.

we have nothing to fix, we see the feed fine, others see the feed fine. we're not your computer tech but we are happy to help you, but when you start asking if we're planting worms (in PM) or making claims that it's an issue on our side... ummm.. not sure man, not sure how to help you.

    Default WMV issue

For me, I had to disable the firewall on my anti-virus and enable the windows firewall instead...hope this helps.

    Yes, mumz is.

Do you know why game makers run alpha and beta testing? The worm thing was to get your attention....worms don't get into my system.

I've disabled everything, and/or allowed your sites. Still nothing.

The one thing I would like to know is how my browser would know to redirect here after clicking the link to go to a different domain?

    It's on you side.

BTW. 60 people see it, one doesn't. How many people do you think will go through your sites in a year? You do the math, you are going to take a beating in lost membership over time.

I've disabled my anti virus and firewall from the System Configuration Utility. I'm still wondering why I always redirect here from Cass' site.

    I'm also behind a router, but I don't think that's the problem.

I need a smoke. I have also tried just pasting the link location Babe Chat into a new FF window...still redirects.

yes chris thats what it is supposed to do. That prevents people from just pasting that URL into their browser. Thus keeping only paid members in the chats and preventing others who do not pay out. It is called Referring URL. You have to be coming from inside a members area in order for it to work.

Got it. But it's kinda hard to keep getting that when I click on Nikkis pic.

    All the links go to:

Does that address use cookies to know who I am? I've PM'd two mods about this board having issues with me not auto-logging in. I will be logged in when I go to babeboards.com, but not when I go to www.babeboards.com.

Makes me think something is up with my cookies.

F' it. I'm uninstalling FF, then reinstalling it clean. I'm going to get this to work if it takes all night.

I was one of the people having problems.
I am running two computers, XP SP3 IE7 and Vista IE7.
I was able to view the chat on both but could not view the cam on either.
I got an error message same as easybob.
I was able to paste the link in VLC and view the show.
I have FF on both computers but not up to date and couldn't use it either.
I have now updated the vista computer to IE8 as suggested by doug.
I also updated FF on both machines.
Hopefully I will be good to go now.

In case anyone else has this happen to them, when I click one of the wmv video links the new browser window only stays open for about 1 second, then I get a prompt to download an ASX file which has the stream info in it. Just save that file, and open it with Windows Media Player. Used to have the same thing happen on CC in the beginning there.

Did you have to do that more then once or was it just a one time deal?

I only had to do it once to view Nikki's show today. And until the stream info changes, I could just open the feed from the same ASX file for future shows. Would probably have to do it again later if that changed, but nothing else. Eventually CC modified something to where I didn't get that prompt anymore and the video windows worked normally, but I have no clue what it is they did. It wasn't something of priority among all the questions I would ask.

I heard you got it working and I am fairly sure Mumz, Doug or myself didn't go to your house and fix it, and we also didn't change anything on this side... because as I had said from the start, the issue WAS NOT on our side.... so hey, how did you fix it?

Glad you did indeed get it working. Must have been those worms we planted hey?

I'm going to refrain from being an ass and just answer this...

I realized that my cookie problem wasn't just something of an annoyance. I removed Firefox, then reinstalled it. It kinda worked at that point, but it was having trouble doing other things, so I just removed it and installed Chrome.

It was a problem that presented itself as an issue on your side, with the redirection here. Mumblez brought up the fact that if you just enter the link into a browser, it will redirect. That made me think of the cookie problem. After the change last night, I ran all my bug killing/detecting/scanning software. Nothing (of course). So for now, it seems as though Firefox has an issue running on my machine. I'll try to use it again later, see if I can get it working; I do like a challenge.

On a side note, I hope you don't keep our username/password info in the cookie. That's a bit of a security risk.

BTW, this site, babeboards.com, still does have a cookie problem, as it still doesn't know the difference between www.babeboards.com and babeboards.com. Three different browsers have the same issue.

I have no idea if Chrome will work with Cass' webcam. Someone said she uses flash, and not wmv....

I appreciate people putting their fixes in here. It worked OK for me last nite at Nikki's cam but I might still need your hints. Tonite I will be using the "upstairs" laptop and I will find out if I am good-to-go on that one too.

    Hey Bob,

The www to non www should be fixed. What happens is browsers see this as 2 different sites. I know at the beginning when people were logging into Nikkisplaymates/members they would have to enter in their username and password twice. Why did this happen? Well when you first logged in nikkisplaymates.com/members there were links and/or images on www.nikkisplaymates.com/members which you also needed to verify for. Believe me it was a huge pain in the ass.

I know of a couple of site that are like that right now and unless you look really cleany at the address bar and the popup window that is asking you for your username and password again you will be thinking "why the hell do I have to put in my username and password again". Thats because you have to do it for both www and non www urls.

I have redirected it to go to the non www version of babeboards right now and that should clean up any more instances of that.

I included a pic cuz I still have one of my urls that does that and it drives me nuts!

Yup. I've done html, java, javascript, javaservlets, perl, mysql, etc...

It's all a pain in the ass...

Speaking of pain in the ass.

I woke up today to find my machine rebooted...No problem I thought, just a windows update. Nope. I was royally buttfucked by a bad script. I use Chrome for less than a day and my stuff is all crazy...background was changed, stupid fake virus scanner "running"...what a hassle.

Still have some cleaning to do. What a bad time to have quit smoking...
