Default Can anyone reccommend a pre-paid cell phone?

Just need something for emergencies. Needed to call the police after a problem at one of my jobs where's there's no phone there. Had to run down the street to a store.

I'm reading that cell phones without a service plan can also still dial 911 for free, anybody tried it before?

go to your nearest walgreen or pharmacy and pick up a Trac Phone.

You can get the phone for 15-25 dollars and a phone card for 10 dollars and up depending on the minutes you want.

That way, you don't have a monthly charge to keep the number or the minutes.

I believe the minutes do not expire but you may want to check their website to make sure.

I have one in addition to my regular cell phone...I have had it for three years now and have spent about $60 total in that time frame. I don't use it but a few times a month or when i cannot give my real number out.

    here is the website: http://www.tracfone.com/

here is the website: Tracfone | Prepaid Cell Phone

Tracfone is the first thing I thought of. The minutes don't expire but they require you to keep buying minutes to keep the phone activated even if you still have minutes it sounds like.

But rachelsexton.com is far less than $60 a month! True, Rachel is not a virgin... and she's not, technically, a lesbian either... but how does a virgin know for sure that she's a lesbian anyway??? I say a virgin lesbian is a myth, or, at the very least, a suspect designation.
I really need a new fucking signature.

It is true that any cellular phone can dial 911 even if it's not on a service plan. I believe it's a requirement of all cell phone manufacturers to allow a phone to send an emergency call.

I've had a Tracfone for about eight years now an am vey happy with it. What I do is activate it for a year and with that activation fee comes anywhere from 400 to 600 minutes depending on any specials they may have going on. This comes out to around $100 a year or less than $9.00 a month. I never use all the minutes so they accumulate and right now I have over 1,700 minutes. I won't lose these minutes unless I quit Tracfone.

My daughter was playing with one of my old phones. Deactivated, didn't even have a SIM card in it, but it was able to dial 911.
